Why CitedSEO paused my site

CitedSEO pauses a site when its articles don't show up, the site doesn't load, or what waits for your OK has waited a month. What's live stays live, and the pause lifts on its own once the reason has gone.

CitedSEO stops new work on a site when the signs say it isn't reaching anyone. That way it doesn't keep writing articles nobody can read. Every site works this way, whatever its plan. Whatever is already live stays live, your feed stays, and CitedSEO keeps checking every night, so the pause lifts on its own once the reason has gone.

Why a site pauses

The sidebar's Needs you list says which of these it is, and CitedSEO also tells you once by email:

  • Your articles haven't shown up for 14 days. After three days, Needs you first says an article isn't on your site. If it still isn't there 11 days later, the site pauses. Fix what shows your articles, then press Check again.
  • Your site hasn't loaded for 14 days. CitedSEO opens your home page every night. After two nights in a row that it doesn't load, Needs you says so. It may be down, or its domain may have lapsed. Once it loads again, press Check again.
  • Things have waited for your OK for 30 days, and nobody has done anything. Nobody has approved, skipped, held or changed anything in that time, from the app, email, Slack, Telegram or an AI app. Press Resume, or act on anything that's waiting, and work picks up straight away. With every kind of work on autopilot, nothing waits for you, so this one never happens.

Signing in or not doesn't count either way. A site that runs on autopilot and whose articles show up never pauses, however long you stay away.

While a site is paused

  • No new articles or changes are written, and nothing new is published. Writing, changing and publishing say why they're waiting.
  • Approving, skipping, holding, scheduling, undo and settings still work.
  • Your weekly report still arrives, and says the site is paused.

When the pause lifts, work carries on from the site's next slot.
