Google signed CitedSEO out of Search Console

When Google stops letting CitedSEO read your Search Console, your numbers pause until you reconnect. Here's why it happens and how to fix it.

Google stopped letting CitedSEO read your Search Console, most often because the access was removed from the Google account or that account can no longer see your site in Search Console. To fix it, open Settings › Search & analytics, press Reconnect beside Google Search Console, and sign in with a Google account that can see your site. CitedSEO picks up where it left off, and the numbers it already read stay.

How you can tell

  • The sidebar's Needs you list says "Google signed me out", with "Search Console numbers pause until you reconnect." Its Reconnect button opens Settings › Search & analytics.
  • In Settings › Search & analytics, the Google Search Console card is marked Signed out and says "Google stopped letting us read it".
  • The Google page shows Reconnect Search Console where your numbers would be.

CitedSEO also tells you once, by email and anywhere else you get alerts, unless you turned off Something needs fixing in Settings › Notifications.

Why it happens

Google turns CitedSEO away when:

  • Someone removed CitedSEO's access in the Google account's settings.
  • The Google account lost access to your site's property in Search Console, for example when it was removed as a user there.
  • Google expired the sign-in.

Reconnect

  1. Open Settings › Search & analytics.
  2. Press Reconnect beside Google Search Console.
  3. Sign in to Google with an account that can see your site in Search Console, and leave the Search Console box ticked.
  4. You come back to CitedSEO, and it starts reading your numbers again.

If Google turns it away again, the app says why. Connect Search Console lists each message and what to do about it.
