Approve or change an article from email
An email about an article ready for your OK has an Approve it button that asks before it acts, and a reply asks for a change in your own words.

When an article is ready for your OK, CitedSEO emails you about it. Approve it in the email opens a page in CitedSEO that asks once more before anything happens. To ask for a change instead, reply to the email with what you want, the way you'd tell a writer. Either way, CitedSEO tells you what it did.

The emails you can act on
Each one goes to the address you sign in with, so everyone on your team acts as themselves.
Both have Open it in CitedSEO, which opens the article in the app. Which of them you get is up to you, under Tell me when in Settings › Notifications: Something waits for your OK and An article goes live. See Choose what CitedSEO tells you, and where.
Approve it
- Press Approve it in the email. A page opens in CitedSEO, asking "Approve “…”?", with your site's address and "Once you approve it, I’ll publish it."
- Press Approve it on that page. It says "You approved it. It goes live at the next free publish time."
Opening the link only shows the question, so nothing happens until you press the button. That also means a mail scanner opening links in your inbox can't approve anything.
The link works without signing in, and acts as you, so keep the email to yourself. Each link works once, for seven days. After that the page says "This link was already used" or "This link has expired", and you can approve the article in Articles instead.
If the article has changed since the email was sent, the page says so instead of approving an older version, such as "I couldn’t do that: there’s a newer version (version 4). Read it before you approve it."
Undo, in an email about an article that went live, works the same way: it opens a page that asks before it undoes anything ("Undo what went live on “…”?"), and it does what the change's ⋮ menu does in Opportunities › Shipped. See Undo something that went live.
Reply to ask for a change
Reply to a "ready for your OK" email with what you want changed ("Make the intro shorter and add a table of prices"). CitedSEO reads your words above the quoted email, leaving out your signature and lines like "Sent from my iPhone", and answers in the same thread:
Got it: “Make the intro shorter and add a table of prices”. I’m making the change now, and the new version waits for your OK.
The change works like asking for a change in the app: CitedSEO makes it, checks the article again, and the new version waits for your OK. With Something waits for your OK on, you get a new email once it's ready. Reply to CitedSEO's answer to ask for another change.
A reply that only says yes ("Approve", "Looks good, thanks 👍") approves the article. A reply that says yes and asks for something ("Approve, but shorten the intro") is taken as a change, so nothing goes live until you've seen it.
Note: Only a reply from the address the email was sent to is acted on. A reply from any other address, or to an email about an article that went live, changes nothing.
In Shipped
An article you approved from an email shows where your OK came from in Opportunities › Shipped: "approved from a link" for Approve it, and "approved via email" for a reply. See See what went live in Shipped.
